A Faster, Smarter Scout & Powerful New Invoicing Tools

Published 2026-04-29

In this release, we've completely rebuilt our assistant, Scout, to handle larger workloads with greater speed, reliability, and efficiency, seamlessly integrating action cards and automations directly into your chat. Alongside a smarter, highly-capable Scout, we're introducing the ability to generate invoices for individual visits within a recurring series and a new versioning system for customer estimates so you can easily save and switch between alternative proposals. Rounding out the update are several quality-of-life improvements—including a comprehensive invoice editor, enhanced schedule filtering, and clear SMS opt-in flows—plus key bug fixes to keep your day-to-day operations running smoothly.

New features

  • Scout — rebuilt for scale and efficiency — The assistant’s whole pipeline was reworked and hardened: conversations use far fewer tokens, so we can offer more Scout usage for your team without watering down answers. Large orgs get a smoother experience—big CRMs and heavy schedules (think 1000+ customers and 50+ jobs per week) stay responsive. Action cards (Run steps) are fully integrated in chat so approve-and-run stays in one place, and Scout can help you set up automations (for example, notifying the right person when an estimate goes out). This is the headline change in this release: reliability, throughput, and a calmer, more capable assistant.

  • Visit series — invoice every visit — You can attach billing to recurring visit series and create an invoice for each visit in the series, so route work and billing line up without extra juggling. Coming soon: automations to auto-send those invoices when visits are marked complete.

  • Estimates — saved versions — On customer estimates (not internal packages), use Version in the workspace header to save named alternatives and switch which one is active. Rename a version from the version menu. Editing and Send use the active version.

Improvements

  • When Scout struggles — we’ve got you — Scout can surface failures automatically, and Send to support is a one-tap way to open a ticket with this chat and context attached—no retyping the whole story.

  • Invoices & jobs — Visit rows can show invoices for that visit (add, open, delete where allowed). Choosing a source invoice for recurring or one-off billing can backfill drafts for visits that were missing them; visit draft dates follow service dates until you lock them. The full invoice editor matches estimates: clear Save, More options (preview, PDF), send/resend, mark paid, delete, field-level saves with status, and Back / tab close warnings when something is still unsaved.

  • Scout (smarter day-to-day) — Shorter, clearer Run card titles; automation steps are easier to read before you approve. Open in the app links on customers, jobs, invoices, and similar records you’ve already loaded. Customer email sends can show a server preview before approval; estimate updates can include line-item tweaks in the Run flow. Today / this week respect your timezone when the app can read it. Defaults for new customers and add property cut down on back-and-forth. Org admins (where your role allows) can use Scout for workflow, notifications, core org settings, email templates, and automations without clicking through every settings screen first.

  • Schedule & jobs — Week grid visit colors by status for quicker scanning. Filtering jobs by start and end date shows jobs that have at least one visit in that range (by service day). Billing source pickers search invoices on this job; create the invoice on the job first, then choose what to copy from.

  • Org & customers — Enabling public estimate requests shows the slug and preview right away (save still turns the live form on). SMS: customers opt in before your org texts them; forms don’t bundle SMS into other consents, and staff can toggle agreement or send a text opt-in link. If a founding / early-access invite expired or was already used, the welcome screen says so clearly.

  • Dashboard polish — Dark mode fixes for My time, Team time, Tasks, and Jobs to schedule so labels and panels stay readable.

Bug fixes

  • Scout — Reduced unnecessary repeat fetches (for example when your team list was already in context) and fixed cases where Scout said Run but no action card appeared (including some customer contact updates). Notify me–style automations resolve the right teammate after you confirm, without extra fetch loops.

  • Jobs — Visit draft invoices now create reliably when visits are generated or billing sources are set, so panels and lists stay in sync.
